Not Another Resolution Post

I am not a resolution person. I used to make them. I ended up dropping them a week into the new year.

What I do now is list goals that I want to achieve and reflect on what I was able to do over 2021.

Goals Reached

Well, I was able to release my novel on Amazon. Looking back on the year, I really didn’t accomplish much else, sadly. I started some short stories on the blog and never finished them.

I didn’t finish another novel like I wanted to do. Hell, I didn’t even finish the herbal I wanted to finish.

Well, this introspective is sounding depressing. Let’s move on to my goals for 2022.

Goals for 2022…

Finish the herbal

I am going to finish the herbal. That’s it. It’s about halfway done as it is. I can’t keep putting it off. I have to commit to finishing it. Since we became homeless, I lost my notes for this book. So, I have to take what I have and make new notes.

Finish the Nano book

I started strong with the 2021 Nano novel, but I fell flat. I will go back and finish it. This one is going to need cover art, which can be really expensive. I will have to save for that.

Shill myself more

I hate doing this. I really do, but I have come to terms with the fact I can’t get people to see my novel links and crowdfunding if I don’t post it on my socials and remind people they are in the description sections of my videos.
Consider yourselves warned about this one. The commercials are coming.

1000k Subs on YouTube

I am sitting at 161 subscriptions on my geeky channel. This seems like it’s insurmountable for a six-month goal. So, I am giving it the whole year. I am trying to be realistic about my goals.

Doing monthly reflections

Once a month, either on the blog or YouTube channel, I will be looking back on the month to see how I am doing with my goals. I have to keep myself on track. I think this will help.

Get support via Ko-fi and Patreon

My eventual goal is to be supported through freelance work, crowdfunding, novel sales, craft sales, and merch sales to the point where I don’t have to look elsewhere for money. I hope to do this by the end of next year, but if it doesn’t happen, I won’t freak out.
I know the pandemic has made people hold fast to their purse strings. I will never act like a spoiled and entitled creator. I will be grateful for any and all support.

Make time for self-improvement

We are so caught up in getting things accomplished and meeting goals we forget to take time out for ourselves.
I am going to schedule time out for me in the form of yoga, meditation, and playing with our Bostie more.

What goals do you have for yourself for the new year?

May you have a happy, healthy, and fun new year. I hope you meet all the goals you set for yourself.
