Games, comics, and animation… OH MY!!!

This week’s newsletter is JAMMED with all sorts of indie creators!

From games to comics and more, you will get a peek at the stuff that caught my and things I’ve been following for a while!

Let’s get to it!

As always, you click the audio version, and all links in the newsletter will be at the end of respective segments and will trigger screen readers for the blind and sight impaired.

Get your game on!

Glory’s Fools

Do you like pixel games? Old-school gamers like myself grew up on them, and I still love to play them occasionally.

Glory’s Fools is a downloadable game from Aggro Azteca on Twitter, and it looks like I might be adding another game to my already extensive list!

You can name your own price, too, but be fair. Developing games isn’t a walk in the park.

Cosmic Night

Imagine you are a black hole going through space trying to survive. That is Cosmic Night.

Let’s Pop Down to the Comic Book Shop!

The Phoenix Press

The owner is a hard-working, nose-to the grindstone person, but has time to talk to you on Twitter.
His Samurai 2100 comic, the first volume, was reviewed by me on this blog. It shows a lot of promise and so does Screecher, his new project.
I will be reviewing more of his books here as well.

Rebel Comics 18+

This project is just getting its footing and is done all by a small group of people.
This is the LEAST racy of all the pictures I found on his Twitter, but the details are out of sight, and I can’t wait to see more.

With all the talk of reboots and how Hollywood is losing the plot, it is refreshing to be able to turn to indie creators for entertainment. Here are two that I found on Twitter that blew me away with the video art.

Eddie Sharam Art

He tweeted his contribution to Indie Animation Day, and it I can’t get enough of it! I am sharing it with you.

If you wish to keep up with him, Link Tree Link

John Likens

Do you like TMNT? I loved watching them as a kid, and I watched the movies that came from the 80s, too.
I haven’t been too impressed by what Hollywood has been turning out, but Johnny Likens blew me away with the Leonardo clip he created:

The BIG “C”…

The PET scan showed the tumor shrunk significantly, and a lymph node they were worried about was no longer in the cancer danger zone. My oncologist wants me to do four more infusions and another PET scan to see where we go from there. I am kicking its butt.
If the next scan shows up clear, the only thing I will need for an infusion will be the immuno-therapy drug to prevent the tumor from coming back. So, I am in it for the long haul.
The GoFundMe is going strong. We have paid off our first bill, and we are now looking toward knocking out a second one. You can help by clicking on the link here:

If you can’t give monetarily, sharing is highly appreciated. Don’t put yourself in a financial bind just to help me out.

Almost lost it…

You know how you click buttons and suddenly you’re wondering what happened and where something went? That was me with my podcast. Spotify helped me fix it though. They were great, and the podcast will resume on Aug. 29, 2023.
I am thinking about adding one more. If I do, it will be strictly for my novel series and be about world-building, lore-walking, and stories related to the series.

I have Videos! lol

Traps! Traps everywhere! Ep 15 Torchlight II
The Horde is Coming! 7 Days Ep. 7

Sorry for the lack of Darkwood and God Eater. I am still making adjustments. I am gathering content for the rant channel, and I will be getting back to scripting and editing the Iruma reviews. It’s been a bear to balance everything, but I will get there.

Storytelling…

I am currently finishing Flashpoint and will move on to finish Chronicle of a Teenage Werewolf.
I am also finishing a commission.
Cowboy Out of Time will be gone over for continuity issues.
The herbal is on hold for now until I can get a handle on how the logistics will work for the Kickstarter. I may change my mind about the Kickstarter, but then I would not know how I am going to pay the artists for their work.
The first Robin and the Hanover House novel will be gone over for continuity, and I will be finishing it instead of the herbal.
